Are you losing hair at an alarming rate? While it is normal to lose up to 100 hairs per day, if your brush or comb seems to be full of hair every time you get done using it, you may want to consider the use of hair growth remedies to counteract any excessive loss, and also to make you feel better because you are doing something that will definitely help! Nutrition

How are your eating habits? Do you eat a lot of sugar or junk food? There is very little nutrition in these foods other than fat and calories. Your hair needs proper nourishment in order to grow, so you could definitely consider a healthy, balanced diet as a hair growth remedy.

If you are dieting, you may not be getting all of the nutrition you need. The hair and skin has to have a certain amount of fat in order to be healthy. Not enough, and you may well have dry, flaky hair, dry skin flakes from you scalp that may be mistaken for dandruff, and dry skin prone to wrinkles. Too much, and you will likely be troubled with oily skin and hair, greasy dandruff, and perhaps a weight problem as well. If you are cutting your calories too low, your hair is not receiving the nourishment it needs, to say nothing of the rest of your body. A healthy body equals healthy hair, so use nutrition as one of the best hair growth remedies known to man.

What should you eat? Fast food burgers, sweets, caffeine and alcohol do not a healthy hair growth remedy make! Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, dairy products and eggs. Don't overdo it on fatty beef. Lean fish and chicken are good sources of protein, which the whole body, hair included, needs to rebuild. There's an old nutritionist's expression that goes something like, "Protein is one of the building blocks of life" and it is very true when it comes to your hair. Hair is made up of a protein called keratin, so a lack of protein in the diet could mean that there is less protein available in your bloodstream as a hair growth remedy to feed your hair via your hair follicles.

Supplements

Try as we might, it would be pretty difficult to eat all the food that would be needed to provide your hair with the nutrients it needs. This is why another good hair growth remedy is vitamin, mineral, and herbal supplements. It may sound odd, especially if you are male, but one of the best and most complete vitamins is a prenatal vitamin, sold to expectant mothers to nourish their bodies as well as those of their unborn child. If you absolutely do not want to take prenatal vitamins, then look for a "complete" vitamin and mineral supplement that has about the same amount of the different ingredients that make up the prenatal vitamins.

Care

Often, our hair is growing just fine, but we are unable to tell that it is growing at all, because the ends of the hair break off so easily. No matter what the length of your hair, you should treat it as if it were a piece of fine old lace you inherited from your grandmother. By the time we get through blow-drying, using a curling iron or a flatiron, having our hair chemical permed or straightened, colouring, or subjecting it to harsh cold or hot dry winds, it's a wonder that we even have hair! Some of these things you may be able to do without, but others you may feel are necessary. In that case, condition your hair meticulously. Use the best products you can find, and don't neglect the natural, homemade treatments, for some of them are the best of all.

Mother Nature's Finest

Various essential oils, which are obtained from plants, can be beneficial as hair growth remedies, and they have the added attraction of a bit of aromatherapy, too! Herbs that are good for hair growth include:

  • Thyme
  • Cedarwood
  • Grapefruit
  • Rosemary (avoid this one if you happen to have high blood pressure)
  • Lemon
  • Lavender
  • Chamomile
These oils, when mixed with a good carrier oil, preferably jojoba, almond, grapeseed, or sesame, at the rate of 2 to 3 drops of each essential oil and a few teaspoons of a carrier oil, work together to create one of the more popular hair growth remedies among those who prefer to only use natural substances on their hair. Studies have shown that this mixture nourishes the scalp and hair follicles, and can actually reduce hair loss.

You can also try using Soothing Scalp Remedy as a treatment, it contains jojoba oil, lavender oil, tee tree, rosemary and neem oil, it's really conditioning to both your hair and scalp. For fast effective result target the root of the hair, The more nourishment the hair root gets, the faster the hair will grow - and the healthier it will be. Healthy hair won't break off as quickly as unhealthy hair, and this is the key to seeing your hair growth on a month to month basis.
